MIDWEST INTERNET SET UP

THIS DISKETTE IS DESIGNED TO WORK WITH WINDOWS 95/98/ME AND INTERNET EXPLORER.

installation.)

Setting up your computer and an account for Midwest Internet involves
three steps:

        A. LOGGING INTO MIDWEST INTERNET AS A GUEST

        B. CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT ON MIDWEST INTERNET

        C. SETTING UP YOUR COMPUTER WITH YOUR NEW USER NAME AND
           PASSWORD

Following are detailed instructions for each of these steps. You must
complete all three steps to successfully create your User Name and
Password combination and then to set up your computer correctly.

NOTE:  If you have already created your User Name/account using the
mw.net web pages, you will only need to set up your computer with your
new User Name and Password.  Please skip to Step C.



A. LOGGING INTO MIDWEST INTERNET AS A GUEST

1. Connect your phone line to your computer's modem.

2. Insert the Midwest Internet Set Up Diskette into your floppy drive.

3. Double-click on My Computer.

4. Double-click on the A: drive.

5. Double-click on the "isetup" icon.

The program will ask you to choose a connection. Select the GUEST
connection for your city, then click OK. The program will search for
the components necessary to dial in to Midwest Internet. Then it will
create a dial up connection and set up the Midwest Internet Sign Up page
in Internet Explorer.

6. On the connect screen, the User name will be listed as Guest. If the
password is blank, enter 'guest' as the password. Click connect.



B. CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT ON MIDWEST INTERNET

Once you have connected, you will see the Midwest Internet Home Page. It
is from here that you will create your new account.

1. From the home page, click on the box labeled "Sign Up Today."

2. The next screen will be Midwest Internet's Terms and Conditions.  It is
strongly recommended that you read this section before continuing. When
you are finished and if you agree with the terms and conditions, click
on the "I Agree" button at the bottom of the page.

3. The New User Registration screen will now appear. Please examine the
following sections:

*Service Offerings--most users will select "Basic Dial Up (56K or ISDN)".

*User Login--enter a user name you wish to use in this box. User names
may contain the letters a-z, the numbers 0-9, and the characters period
(.), underscore (_), and dash (-).  User names must be all lower case,
must start with a letter, and end with a letter or number. They also
must be at least 3 characters long and no longer than 21 characters.

*Password--enter the password you wish to use here.
WARNING: Passwords are case sensitive, so it is recommended that you enter
them in lower case. Retype the password in the "Confirm Password" box.

*Company Name--If you are a business account, enter your company name
here. If this account is for home use, leave this box blank.

*Account Contact First Name, Account Contact Last Name--enter your first
and last name in the boxes provided.

*Address 1--enter your billing address in this box.

*City, State, Zip--enter your city, state, and zipcode in the boxes provided.

*Contact Phone--if this is a business account, enter your office phone
number here. If this is a personal account, enter your home telephone
number here. If you have a separate line for your modem, do not enter
that number in this box.

4. When you are finished, click the Register button.

PLEASE NOTE:  During sign up, if you selected "Monthly Invoicing" as
your payment method, you must make the first month's payment before you
will be able to surf the Internet or use email.

5. After completing sign up and payment, close Internet Explorer and
close your connection to the Internet.



C. SETTING UP YOUR COMPUTER WITH YOUR NEW USER NAME AND PASSWORD

Your account has now been established with Midwest Internet. The last
step involves adding your personal account information for dial up and
email to your computer.

1. Connect your phone line to your computer's modem.

2. Insert the Midwest Internet Set Up disk into your floppy drive.

3. Double-click on My Computer.

4. Double-click on the A: drive.

5. Double-click on the "isetup" icon.

The program will ask you to choose a connection. Select the USER
connection for your city, then click OK. The program will then ask you
for your user name, password, full name and organization.  Enter your
Midwest Internet user name (WITHOUT @mw.net), password, full name,
and organization (if desired) in these boxes. (The full name appears on
email you send.) Click OK.

You should then get a message saying the installation is complete.
You are now set up with Midwest Internet.

6. To connect, find the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop (usually
a big blue "e" or a globe with a magnifying glass next to it) and
double-click on it.

7. The username will be listed as your username. If your password is
not filled in, type it in. Click "Connect."


You should now be able to surf the Internet and send and receive
e-mail. If you have questions, click on the Tech Support page and read
the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and then call Midwest Internet's
Customer Support.
